My Martial Arts training began just after my 16th birthday in late 1969 and has continued uninterrupted ever since. My goal then was to master Karate and develop true skills. That goal remains to this day. This pursuit of martial knowledge has coincided with the search for an understanding of Budo and the spirit of enlightenment as experience.

The road traveled has included traditional practice, classical knowledge, cultural and historical     research and a solid grounding in martial experience. Fighting has always been at the core of my practice and a central tenet of my long time Sensei, Mr. Larry Lunn. I was taught thoroughly that knowledge only existed if it could be applied. Intellectual knowledge, by itself was baseless.
